Wisdom Teeth?!?!

Question: I wasn't suppose to get my wisdom teeth out until the summer, but one of them has been killing me lately, so . And I am actually scared to get them out, like anxiety over it. But I am wondering how many days it takes to recover?? Also I have 4 year old twins, and wondering if I should arrange care for them or will I be fine enough to keep up with them?? And if there is anything else I should know...?? Thanks in advance!

It isn't that bad, but I would arrange for someone to help with twins for a day or two. The meds they give you are really strong. You will be really drowsy. Good luck with your surgery.

If the surgeon is really good, you'll be on your feet by the next day. I was.

I would have someone watch over them for a few days. They either will take them out there in the office or you have to get surgery and go through a surgeon, when i got mine out I was out for almost a month. It depends if there sideways. My friend got hers out last week and returned back to work 3 days later. so it isnt that bad.

I put off getting my wisdom teeth out until I couldn't stand the pain any longer. I had all 4 taken out in one sitting and just with novacaine(or whatever the drug they used) The worst part of the entire ordeal was the crunching sound it made but no pain really!! Now, I was given hydrocodone for the pain but get this!!....I found out about 6 hours after taking it that I am really sensitive to hydrocodone and started puking. Lovely huh. So anyways I couldn't take it and had to just take advil. But you know what I hardly had any pain afterwards. Maybe I have a particularly good dentist or something. I hope your goes just as well. Minus the puking. And I would have your hubby take off at least 1 full day for you too recover a bit before running after your kids. But I was up and running the next day. My jaw was just really stiff and I couldn't yell at my children=) I have 3 under 5!

It depends on how they will be removed. If they're "in" and it's a matter of just having them pulled, you'll be in pain and woozy from pain killers for a few days. If they're not in and you'll have to have oral surgery to have them removed, then plan on being out of the game for a week, at least. You'll be put under for the procedure and the effects of that could last the whole rest of the day. You'll be in discomfort for several days after. But recovery is different for everyone. I was out of commission for a week. Other people I know were still in pain after three weeks.

Honestly, if your wisdom teeth are causing you pain, you need to get them out as soon as possible. If you wait, they could end up pushing the rest of your teeth out of alignment, at the very least. Talk to your dentist and your oral surgeon immediately.

oh my gosh, i am facing the same problem, i just turned 14 and i have to get my wisdom teeth removed, of course they haven't started growing yet, so they will have to be cut out of my gums... yikes! im really nervous, and glad that someone also feels the same way, hopefully we will both get through it alive! lol
