If you are doing an internship for dental assisting at a dental office, how shou!

Question: If you are asking for internship openings at a dental office, is it okay to ask them, "How should I be dressed while on the internship?" Any better suggestions?

Since you'll want to 'fit' in and not look like an outsider, scrubs (or whatever the clinical staff wears) is appropriate. You'll see what the staff members are wearing at your interview, so you can dress accordingly.

Put it this way: If you were at a dental office having a filling done, you wouldn't want to see a woman dressed in a business suit and heels assisting the dentist, right? :)

Just remember to relax, soak up as much info as you can, don't say 'oops' and have fun!

you probley will won't to wear scrubs most dentist offices employees wear them

I would dress Semi-formal. nice clothes but not expensive. No Heels that would be the last thing. I don't know what type of person you are but maybe you could wear a buisness skirt and button up blouse hair tied back and such. I would hope that if your in the room with a patient the Dentist would give you a smock or something.

Well in your interview, they will most likely tell you what to wear. But yes, I would ask them. There is no shame in it. They may want you to wear scrubs, then again they may not. Doesn't hurt to ask them, that lets them know that you care about your appearance and fitting in with the team and making them look good as well.

I'm a dentist.

Well, that depends on what kind of body you have. If you're curvacious and well-endowed, tight clothes are appropriate. If you're fat or too skinny, loose scrubs will do.

Joking aside, it is totally appropriate for you to ask the office how you should be dressed. Look at it this way: would you rather show up to your internship dressed inappropriately?
