For a Dentist?!

Question: Hi there, I have a question regarding candy and tooth decay. Firstly, I floss, and use ACT Fluoride Mouthwash at night. I rinse out my mouth and brush my tongue after every meal, and brush teeth morning and night.

If I eat candy only once on any given day, and make sure it's candy that doesn't stick to the teeth, like Trolli Gummi Candy products which mainly consists of non stick candy, and rinse out my mouth afterwards. Would I be facing any Tooth Decay.

I normally eat candy for 5 to 13 minutes, knowing that acid from it will last in the mouth for an extended 20 minutes or so.

Can candies like Skittles cause more damage ?

Thanks, I have a sweet tooth from my grand parents.

Sounds like you know what proper oral health care practises consist of. You know about a drop in pH (acidic conditions) within 30 minutes of finishing a meal with sugar in it.
You are not leaving yourself very open to suffer from tooth decay. Just make sure that any pits and grooves on your teeth are filled in. For example the cheek side of your lower molars often have a pit in them, or the grooves of any of your molars...if they are left open and bacteria and sugar can get in, and you can not clean them out very well...well that is a spot where you can get some decay.

don't eat candy.
There are many chewing gum or tablets on market . and dispose of them neatly.

Skittles are good at parties. I never go to parties.
