Can having a wisdom tooth extracted cause an unhealed hole in the jawbone,called a cavitation?

I read that leaving part of the periodontal ligament that attached tooth root to bone in the socket can lead to the site being infected by anearobic bacteria and becoming like cesspools filled with toxins that can cause a myriad of health problems if ones body can't quarantine the toxins for whatever reason; suppressed immune system from antibiotics,etc.


Answers:

The chances, however, of that are slim. Which all articles such as the one you read probably forgot to mention.
My mother and my father got their wisdoms out, and nothing happened.

I think if you do what your dentist tells you, it would be alright.

I am not denying that it might happen, because your mouth does possess the most germs, but chances are low.
