Does anyone know the procedure for having aveloplasty?!

Question:

Does anyone know the procedure for having aveloplasty?

I know it has something to do with reshaping, but I wanted to know what is involved.. Can anyone give me any information?

Answers:

I am on oral surgeon...an alveoloplasty is the "reshaping" of the bone where your teeth were removed to aid with the placement of a denture or partial. This is usually done at the same time your teeth are removed, but on occasion can also be done at a separate appointment. All that is involved is an incision into the tissue, the tissue is "pushed back" off of the bone and the bone is smoothed. This will be closed with sutures and will heal in several days. This is usually a very quick and comfortable procedure.
