Painless braces/bracket removal?!
Question:
Painless braces/bracket removal?
I am scheduled to have my braces removed in about 6 weeks. My brackets are clear, glass-type of brackets (ceramics?). Last time that they removed a few brackets to reposition them, it hurt greatly. I felt as if my teeth were going to come out right with my brackets! And the scrapping of the 'glue' hurt almost as bad. Is there any special trick that my orthodontist can do, or some kind of spray, or a 'glue softener/melting' product? I remember that the nurse 'solidified' the glue with a blue light. Thanks!

NANCY,
THE ORTHODONTIST HAS SPECIAL TOOLS TO REMOVE BANDS AND BRACKETS. THE LITTLE GLUE THAT REMAINS ON THE TEETH CAN BE REMOVED WITH SPECIAL BURS. DON'T BE WORRIED. AFTER IT'S ALL DONE YOU WILL WONDER WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN EASIER.
