My 3 year old son has had bad breath for 2 days now and no matter what we do it !

Question: What can it be from? We brush his teeth 3 times a day. He has no cavitys. His teeth a perfectly healthy. It seems like the smell comes out his nose too when his mouth is closed,Like when he is sleeping. He has never had anything like this before. Any suggestions on how to get rid of the bad breath? Oh and I cant give him mouth wash he is to young.
Thankyou.

could it be keytones? does it smell like nail polish remover?ask a doctor

Im thinking it may be coming from his tonsils, sometimes little kids will not complain about them but have a problem. However at times he may have an infection but as yet it is to come out and cause the pain. I would get that checked just in case as this was a problem with my daughter as well and turned out to be the tonsils. Good luck

mouthwash with alcohol can worsen your bad breath problem for definitely it can cause dry mouth which can speed up the production of bad bacteria inside the mouth. choose a mouthwash that has natural ingredients like essential oils.

try to avoid foods that are garlicky. sometimes bad breath can come from stomach related illness. it can also have a lot of causes like poor oral hygiene, dry mouth, sinusitis, medications, bacteria, gum disease and gum infections. to determine the cause of your bad breath, you may need the help of a dental expert or dentist.

have a good oral hygiene habits after meal, be sure to floss, brush, and scrape your tongue carefully and properly. keep your mouth hydrated by drinking lots of water. for more tips to get rid of bad breath visit http://www.oramd.com
