Anyone ever hear of a dental product that covers your tooth to help deal with se!

Question:

Anyone ever hear of a dental product that covers your tooth to help deal with sensitivity.?

Answers:

There are several different products that your dentist may use, all of these work to seal the exposed dentinal tubules or the root of the tooth below the cementoenamel junction which has been exposed due to tooth brush abrasion or recession. Most of these products work well to reduce the sensitivity when applied correctly and used in conjunction with Sensodyne tooth paste or others specifically made for sensitive teeth. Hope I've been of some help and good luck!

It doesn't cover the whole tooth, just the areas that are exposed or not covered by enamel, which is what's causing the sensitivity to occur.

Additional information: Discuss this with your dentist at your next cleaning, it may be possible that you can benefit from just a fluoride treatment to reduce sensitivity depending upon the amount of recession or the reason for this problem. Also, watch what you eat, occasionally a change in diet that has added acidic foods brings on hypersensitivity. So if you've been eating more acidic foods lately, such as lemons, oranges, tomatoes or other high acid fruits or vegetables, this could be the cause of your problem. Try to avoid these foods for awhile and see if you notice a change in your sensitivity.
