Why Are Braces So Damn Expensive?
My teeth are ugly and I want to get braces but my family is extremely poor and even with insurance we can't even come close to affording them. I feel so bad about my teeth and my self esteem is incredibly low because of it. I can't get motivated to do anything because my self esteem is so low.
This sucks.

They're expensive because they have to be custom made for each patient. Everyone's teeth are different, so there's no "standard" braces to work with. Working with braces also takes a great deal of a dentist's time, and that makes them expensive. You don't pay for every visit for adjustments, etc. That's included in the fee for the braces.
