Teeth removed. Possible Infection? Damaged Sinus?!

Question:

Teeth removed. Possible Infection? Damaged Sinus?

I had 6 teeth pulled on April 26th. Most are healing fine apart from the back 2 molars at the upper left. It looks like the dentist had a bit of trouble getting them out as I have been left with 3 stitches and a kind of vertical tear / recess going to the top. (it looks like where the roots were, it has now sunk in)
I am on a weeks course of antibiotics.

Since 3 days after the extraction I have been getting a really runny nose and sometimes the feeling of a swollen throat but only on the same side as the extractions.
Could he have damaged the sinus floor? How long will it take till these symptoms subside?

Also the recess / cut on the left side of my mouth has a small section of slightly yellow looking skin. Is this normal while it heals or does it sound infected while the antibiotics treat it?

I am able to send a picture if needed lol. I will probably try and go back to the dentist in the next couple of week (he has booked me in for mid June for the next work)

Thank you.

Thank you for all your answers already.

I forgot to mention I am bathing the extraction areas in warm salt water 3 times a day and using an antibacterial mouthwash twice a day after brushing.

Answers:

HAve you been using an antiseptic mouthwash or salty water mouth wash, that will help. It does sound like an infection, but to be safe either get an emergency appointment with your dentist or see your doctor. Extractions can take a couple of weeks to settle especially multiple ones.
