What is better to drink when you have cativities forming in your teeth...diet pe!

Question: I know neither, and I'm usually a strict water drinker but sometimes I just want something sweet and grab a pepsi. We free soda and water at work so I usually grab a can maybe a few times a month.

I have cavities forming on all of my back molars (these are the only cavities I have, I'm 24 years old). I take very good care of my teeth but now whenever I put anything sugary into my mouth I feel like it's ruining my teeth. I do chew gum but it's usually Trident with Xylitol.

My question is...should I just drink regular pepsi with the sugar in it since I don't drink it often anyway or should I go for the diet with the sugar substitute? Although..isn't the substitute bad as well because it's a derivitive of sugar as well as unnatural?

What are your thoughts on this.

Really...I'd go with either...if you must have one. There isn't a type of pop that is "better" for your teeth. When you drink it...drink it with a straw so that the acid doesn't get on your teeth and it will go straight down your throat.

for health reasons...avoid diet drinks. for sugar reasons avoid "real" pepsi. So drink water if you are thirsty probably makes the most sense...and if you are hungry eat real food to satisfy your energy needs. The sugar found in drinks should come from your food...for example...even if you eat a burger it will get broken down by your body into sugar for us to use. This process takes a while and helps regulate blood sugar levels...whereas sugar from a drink or candy...it goes straight into your blood and causes a energy spike as well as a insulin spike. These insulin spikes slow healing.

get your cavities filled with a resin filling..not a metal filling as they contain mercury.
