Abcessed tooth-no pain-tooth can be saved-no ins.-drains daily now for 1 and hal!
Question: Hello, An abscess that doesn't cause pain is usually because of it's ability to as you say "drain"..An abscess is an infection and an infection creates a gas and if that gas can't escape it puts a great deal of pressure on the nerve trunk that supplies the tooth...and that causes pain. I realize it's pretty easy to ignore the abscess when it's not causing pain, but the other issue you haven't considered is that an abscess infection also erodes away gum bone and at some point it will erode away enough bone from around the tooth it will all but fall out...NOW...if were talking about an Upper Tooth, you need to consider that if not treated the abscess could eat it's way through your sinus and that my friend is really something you don't want to have to deal with. As for the "no" insurance..If there is a Dental School near you contact their "Out Patient Clinic" they can provide the service you need and they charge either NO Fee or a Very Low one. Or, call you local hospital and ask if they have a Dental Internship Program. If they do, it will also provide Free to Low cost treatment. Good luck and I wish you well.

Either have it fixed or have it pulled. There are not to many other alternatives.
if it has drainage for such a long time I think u need to pull it out and no pain means the tooth is already dead.the abscess is kind of infection in your jaw, try to get rid of it soon.
If your tooth is impacted and swollen with pus the dentist cannot remove the tooth until the swelling has gone down. Pus is poisionous, and the dentist will not take the chance of spreading it into your system. Antibiotics, will bring down the swelling, for pain.. try some alleve. but be sure check with your dentist before you start any asprin regement to be sure your not allergic to any medication....good luck!
