Disadvantages of bonding?!

Question: II've decided that instead of getting braces for my gap (it's the front two teeth, not that big) I'll bond them. It's seems like the easy way, but are they're any cons to it? Like, is it possible for the material that the denists use to close the gap, to break or chip easily?
thanks in advance!

Discuss it at length with your orthodontist, bonding is more cosmetic, could end up being just temporary, though. Braces correct the position of the teeth in relation to the facial bones, and are a more permanent fix (it's actual restructuring, as opposed to a cosmetic choice), then there are, of course, professional dental insurance coverages to be considered. It all depends on what is truly necessary to correct.

I've seen pictures of this done (bonding) at my old dentist's office. It looks good but the best thing you should do is consult your dentist who knows your teeth. Get an educated response from a professional....they're your teeth forever. :)

It depends how big the gap is. Often times when you use bonding to close the gap, it'll make your teeth look wider. I often think of Chiclets gum when I used to do that.

There's also the possibility that the bonded material may chip or fall off. Over time the junction between bonding material and tooth may discolor.

In the short term, this is a good solution. Over the long run, I think you're better off getting braces.

Be careful, bonding later changes color. That's why they use porcelain veneers, but that's expensive.
