Orthodontic problems?!
Question: So, I've had my braces on for a good 3+ years. And my mom pays them what she can each month. She doesn't have the money in full to pay for them. And we've had interest and all sorts of things added to our price. Which is really stupid. My orthodontist is even on the BBB for being reported on charging people for things that have nothing to do with their treatment..but whatever, that's not what I'm asking about. I know my orthodontist is horrible. He's such a rude, horrible guy.
But my question is if I ask him to take off my braces will he? He told me he can't take them off until the money if completely paid off. Now my mom is a single mom, and we get no help..so it's a little hard for her to just give him the cash. But if I want them off shouldn't I be able to get them off?
He hasn't seen me since November, and it's now April. I have a wire that's been cutting my mouth, and I just can't deal with his BS anymore. I just want these off! So do you think I'm just screwed or what?

He does NOT have the right to deny removing them if you want them removed, regardless of if you have the money to pay to have them removed or not. He cannot abandon a patient during treatment. He can add interest for late or misse payments. However, if you want them off, he is required to do so. Report him to your states dental association if this is the case. You can find the number online by putting a search for (your state) dental association. Put the call in and you should be able to get them off in not time. I am curious where you are from b/c we have a few orthodontists like that around here. We tell patients not to go there.
WOW. That makes no sense. When your braces need to come off, they will come off. If he is waiting for the money, he is a bad orthodontist. Clearly he has no idea what he is doing. Sorry my friend but you are screwed.
Ps. I'd see someone maybe legaly about this.
