You'll be fine. It hurts a LITTLE! You'll be fine trust me. I have gotton braces before. The only 1 part that hurts are the spacers. The pain will go away sooner or later. If you want to lessen the pain I'd recommend taken some pain killers (pills). You won't be able to eat solids. As you start off the day be happy eat what you wanna eat before getting braces because after the braces are done you cannot eat until 2 hours. After you dentist appoint, your dentist will inform you how to floss and clean your braces and keep them clean! After you get the spacers in there is not gonna be any other pain to be afraid of. After your spacers are finished the dentist will just glue some brackets on. GLUE so no pain!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then you pick some color for your braces, after that CONGRATS you made it too the end! After you'll need to make a dentist appointment every 4 weeks. You can change your color but when they do they tighten your braces up which is there is gonna be slight pain but not as much as the spacers. Be happy because after the results, they'll be so straight that your friends are gonna be jeaslous (=D hahaha) So be happy why you got them even though you are gonna go through a little pain it's worth it!

I was terrified too. And no matter what, just think on the bright side. You'll have them off in what, like two years at the most?
And if you're afraid it will hurt, take Advil beforehand. And every 4 hours after. (I have braces right now, I know these things.)
Make sure you stock up on Applesauce and Maccaroni also.
Don't worry, before you know it, you won't even know your braces are there.

I am about to get my braces off soon, after 2 looooooooooong years. But trust me, it doesn't hurt as much as you think it does. Seriously. Just remember that your mouth will be sore the next day so stock up on Advil. but you get used to it really fast. Heck, I play the trumpet and it took SO long to play like I used to with them. But if you don't play a brass instrument, or any instrument at all, you should be fine!!!!

It is not bad at all, just a little sore sometimes and no pain.
Trust me it's not that bad. I just got them and it hurt for a few days when I first got them but then it went away. You know like when you bite into a hard apple your teeth get sore? That's how it feels for a few days then it goes away. When you get them tightened they hurt the same way then after a few days the soreness goes away. Ummmmm, oh and you might want to eat soft food after you get them until the soreness goes away. And bring a compact mirror or go to the bathroom after you eat because food may get stuck. It sounds overwelming and terrible but REALLY, it's not that bad. I've had mine for a month and I'm already use to them. Trust me! They're not so bad. If you have more questions e-mail me! Bye!
