What happens when you don't wear your Rubber Bands with your Braces?!
Question: I am a dentist. The reason you wear rubber bands is to fix your bite. Your teeth are now straight, but your muscles have to be programed where to bite. The rubber bands move the lower jaw into an ideal bite with the top teeth. If you don't wear them then this will not happen and you will have to continue to wear your braces until you achieve this bite. Just do your parents and your orthodontist and your self a favor, wear them and you get them off sooner and you have a more perfect bite.

If you are supposed to wear rubber bands, and you don't, the progress that your braces are making will slow down, and the treatment will take longer, and probably cost more. It's always a good idea to follow your orthodontist's schedule.
