If your tooth is out, and there is not root, is there something wrong with my te!

Question: It's freaky!

Answers: It's freaky!

Not if it is a baby tooth. This is what happens when the permanent teeth begin to come in. The permanent teeth eat through the roots of baby teeth. If it is not a baby tooth, no this isn't normal. This is root resorption. It is usually due to trauma such as getting hit w/ something or having it knocked out and rarely braces.

Is it a baby tooth? (Did you pull it out yourself?) Baby teeth have roots, but when the adult tooth starts coming into your mouth, the roots on the baby tooth start to resorb (dissolve away). This makes the tooth loose. Sometimes the roots have completely resorbed, sometimes there's a little bit of root left. Either way is normal for a baby tooth.

Baby teeth don't have roots like adult teeth have, because they need to be able to come out.
