Yes it can affect your ear. How bad is the cavity? Can you get by with a filling or root canal? They give you novocaine and some dentists can give a general anaesthesia, I've had 2 molars pulled with the novocaine only and it didn't hurt. It hurt later on, but not in my mouth. The tiny muscles around my head hurt from having my mouth open so much and for so long, but a couple tylenol fixed it.

My wisdom teeth broke when I had them pulled but again I was on general anesthesia and I thought it was funny. (love that stuff.)

Yes the earache is from the tooth and as far as getting it pulled once the doctor gives you the Novocaine you should not feel anything but pressure when it is pulled.

Yes a toothache can give you pain in your ear.
If you have to have it pullled ---the dentist will make it numb enough to where you will not feel a thing---you will have some very minor discomfort afterwards ---nothing some Advil won't take care of.

Yeap it can cause an earache and a headache. And if it breaks off before you get it pulled then it will really hurt. It won't hurt to have it pulled but for a little while aftwards it will but advil will work. And if it's infected they'll give you anitbotics and pain killers before they pull it anyway.
