Braces tightened does it hurt???!

Braces tightened does it hurt???

Ok I have 3 more days till i get my braces tightened for the first time.I don't know how long it will hurt and how bad.People say it is bad is that true?? Help Please !!!!!

I got my braces tightened as well for the first time last Wednesday and I was bricking it as I was told by everybody that it would hurt loads. Even the dentist told me that as soon as I came out of there to take painkillers. The actually changing of the wire didn't hurt although at the time I thought whoa I can feel it more tight but it didn't hurt or feel uncomfortable. I figured it might take an hour or so for the pain to kick in so I raced home and popped a couple of painkillers. 6 hours later I still didn't feel any pain but figured it was the painkillers. The next day, nothing. A week later, still nothing!! I honestly can't say that I felt any aches or pains. A couple of times I thought I felt a slight tightness on one of two of my teeth but it was nothing that I would consider painful or anything (and I'm a complete ***** when it comes to pain).
