Wisdom teeth extraction, How long before i feel better?!

Question: I had my wisdom teeth extracted on Monday. The 2 on the lower jaw were bony impacted teeth. It is now Thursday and i am still in a lot of pain. I am having pain in my ears and my jaw is really stiff/tight feeling. Also i still have swelling in my checks. I thought i would be feeling better by now. How long did it take you to start to feel better?

Also is there anything i can do to help the healing?

All 4 of mine were impacted. It took a little over a week before I was totally pain free. Take the pain meds is the only advise I would give you. I took tylenol once I went back to work. Good Luck!

I used ice packs and the meds the Dr. gave me. Try not to hang your head down much. Eat only liquids or soft foods. My pain disappeared within just a couple of days (the severe pain). Try not to exercise too much for a few days. If the pain persists then talk to the Dr. about it..there might be other things going on.

If it's feeling worse and not better, go back, you might have a dry socket. I had 3 pulled and one dry socket.

Hed them flush it/put a packing in and WOW I felt better almost immediately. Call and ask, they might suggest you even come in!

i took a week or two...pay very good attention to what time you should be taking the meds. just a half hour off could cause a lot of pain.

It took me a little over a week.

I had all 4 of mine extracted and they were impacted. My face swelled for about 4 days and the pain lasted about 2 weeks. Just rest a lot and garggle salt water when possible. It tastes pretty bad but def. works. Hope you feel better soon!

Probably about a week. But if you are have SEVERE pain call the dentist, you could have a dry socket. It should just be sore at this point...like raw, bruised, slightly achy face, jaw gums.It actually heals kind of weird. Like one day it hurts and then the next it just completely subsides.....or atleast thats my experience.

i had all 4 of mine taken out and the pain lasted a week the not being able to eat lasted well over a month
