Broken molar?!

Question: i have this one molar tooth on the top of my mouth that is loose (or at least i thought it was...) just a few minutes ago i was about to brush my teeth when i saw that it was broken. it'd kinda reddish in the middle and the left side of the tooth doesn't wiggle but the right side wiggles and i can totally tell that it is broken in half. Why is this? How could this have happened? My next dental appointment is on June 26. I told my mom about it and she told me not to worry and everything would be ok and that she should call the dentist next week for an early appointment to see what's up with this tooth. I'm really worried about it...will it hurt when he fixes it? My mom said they'd probably either build up on it or use some glue to make it stick. Please tell me what will happen! Will it hurt? Should I tell my mom that I'd like to see the dentist next week so he can tell me what'll have to be done? Oh and I think it may be a baby but maybe an adult...i'm scared! Any dentists out there?

Hi there! The same thing just happened to my 5 year old son. He knocked it and it was discolored and then broke-got infected...had to get pulled out. It's no big deal, they will numb the area if it's a baby tooth they will probably just pull it out. Not sure how old you are-but if it's an adult tooth they will probably fit you for a crown which is just a fancy term for "fake tooth"

It won't hurt when he fixes it-but it's a good idea to get it checked out right away so it doesn't get infected or anything. Good luck!

well, were you brushing on that tooth? if you didnt, it broke maybe because it had a cavity or it was plain dirty. if you did, you were probably too harsh on a shaking tooth. or one more reason is maybe your tooth was too weak for some reason. try using mouthwash if you dont already. if its not that, i dont know. well, it might also be a tooth virus, which means you should pull it out immediatly. and you have a wise mom, dont worry. if you dont touch it, it wont hurt. just DONT USE GLUE. one taste of it and BLECH!!! and one way to tell if its a baby or an adult as by feeling the tip of the tooth. if its smooth, itz a baby. and if its bumpy like this magnified 40-50* U-U-U, wa-wa-waaaaaaaaa. itz a grown up. ive told you almost everything i know about teeth so i hope i helped.
