That's definetely not surprising that it's $7,000 dollars for braces in Bay Area. It's not technically a rip-off considering this is a popular higher cost living area, mostly everywhere around California is. Here around Three Arch Bay, you can expect a price up to $8,000 for braces. I used to live in Kansas. The cost of braces was $5,500 there. But the living costs were much cheaper there than in California.
Most places around california, braces will be that high. You can try to see if another orthodontist may offer a lower charge, but i doubt it, They generally charge higher again because of higher standards of living,they as well need to pay their technicians and for equipment,etc.
and id say,im definetely happy with my results, it's gotten me to this day to major in Orthodontics.
don't forget that your insurance may be able to give partial coverage!
