Does anyone know if it is normal for my nose to get blood/blood clots in it afte!

Question:

Does anyone know if it is normal for my nose to get blood/blood clots in it after I get a tooth pulled?

I had my tooth pulled 6 days ago and every day since my nostrel on the side the tooth was pulled fills up with blood and kinda clots and it just gets stuffed up but with blood and my dentist told me it is ok and to just not blow it for a couple of weeks but I can wipe it! I'm just really curious if anyone knows anything about this so I can sleep at night! I can wipe a kleenex across the bottom of my nose and get red blood on the kleenex every wipe and it's starting to worry me. I've even called the local hospital and talked to a doctor and they said its probly normal since I had an upper tooth pulled(It was not a wisdom tooth)! The doc also said your dentist is right don't blow it! So if anyone can help me or has a story like this that has helping info. I would greatly appreciate it, Thank you!

I HAVE WENT BACK AND SEEN MY DENTIST SINCE THIS HAS HAPPEND AND HE TOLD ME JUST DON'T BLOW MY NOSE FOR TWO WEEKS!

Answers:

Since it was an upper back tooth, it sounds like you have a sinus perforation. You did not say whether anyone has actually SEEN you since this trouble began. You should be seen as these perforations often need to be closed surgically.

To me, six days is too long to still be finding blood in your nose. Get it checked.
