Well my daughters cost over $5,500. It was $500 cheaper because we paid upfront too, less the interest.
That includes all the visits to tighten them, the elastics, any breakage of wires etc. along the way and I believe a retainer at the end. Whether that's going to cost more if you want a permanent one or if it breaks beyond that, is it covered? Somehow I doubt it. You have to wear the retainer for life to keep the teeth in their new positions too.
There are probably much cheaper versions but the ortho said they don't align your teeth in the same way, and then also depending on colour (clear or steel, etc.) it may be more/less.
Sadly our second child got ripped off as we didn't have the money to straighten his, but good straight teeth mean more to girls and he really didn't care. Hopefully he can get them someday. I really don't even see why he needs them his teeth look just fine to me!
for mine, i had to pay $5,000. but thats with my orthodontist because if u go to a differnt one they may cost a different ammount. Good luck =]
