I can't say with any degree of certainty but I recently opened some packs of baseball cards dating back to 1979. After removing the flat, square piece of gum that comes in each pack my daughter proceeded to gobble some of it up while I wasn't paying attention. She swears that it's just as good as the stuff she gets fresh from the store.
