Peroxide/baking soda?!

Question: I really want to whiten my teeth, and I've heard that brushing with peroxide and baking soda will work. Does it? If so, how long before I see results? And how long should I brush with it (like 2 minutes or does it matter)...thanks!

P.S. I'm a broke college student and I can't afford to have them professionally done, and my teeth are not perfectly straight and whitening strips never whiten them evenly.

Yep -- it can help - takes a while - between 4 & 6 weeks - and be prepared - it tastes AWFUL!!

You will not see much results from peroxide/baking soda. This just basically makes a run of the mill whitening toothpaste. Whitening strips are really the best over the counter product. You can apply some vaseline to your gums to prevent gum burning so you can get them on straighter if you need. Some teeth are thicker than others. This could account for the unevenness. Or, if you have fillings or restorations it will not whiten those.
