Why do we have wisdom teeth?!

Question: if we have to have them taken out when they come through because of them pushing our other teeth together and causing MAJOR discomfort

Answers: if we have to have them taken out when they come through because of them pushing our other teeth together and causing MAJOR discomfort

In the early days of humanity everyone had enough room for their wisdom teeth and they gave us more area to chew with.
But in the many years since early humanity there has been a mixing of different races and regions especially in America.
A common term for this is a melting pot.
The result is that someone may receive their father's large teeth from his genetics and their mother's small mouth from her genetic side( or visa versa). This of course leaves no room for the last teeth that come in, therefore they are impacted or at least crowded.
In pure races generally there is room for the wisdom teeth and they are very functional for chewing.
I might note that this is not about color of skin race, but more about regional differences and facial shape and skeletal build.

It goes all the way back from our carnivorous ancestors.

i wish i knew i have 2 sets and they hurt like hell

I think that people used to lose their teeth early from decay, so we had an extra set of molars to take the place of any that were lost. Now that we have better dental care, we don't need them and there's not enough space for them.

Is does date back to when humans were evolving. And a fun fact- some people don't have them, and that's another sign of evolution. I only have 3, but I'm sure I'm not more evolved, lol. I think it has to do with meat eating back in the day, but it's just a guess.
