What are the stages of braces being put on your teeth? Does this process hurt?!

Question: :S

ok well when i got my braces put on it didn't hurt for me at all.
1. First they put a little silver ring around ur last tooth, this hurts a bit. This is also were the wires go through.
2. Then they clean ur teeth with a whitening so that there is no plaque left on your teeth and then the put the glue on which doesn't taste nice at all. They then start putting on the little brackets, this doesn't hurt much.
3. After they put the brackets on they use a special gun with a blue light to make the glue hard and stick.
4. After having the brackets put on the may ask you what color you want. If you are getting colours they use speacil scissors to put on the colours.
5. after having the colours put on they then put on the wires. This gives a bit of a pressure on your mouth.
After all of this is over ur orthodontist will tell u how to clean your teeth and so forth.
Hope this helps!

Yes Like Hell!!!!!!!!! Dont Do it!!!!

i had braces for 3 yrs... it hurts when they put it up and during the process. each time they pull it tighter. when they put mines on, i couldn't eat for 2 days! they pull it tighter 6 weeks.

when they take it off it feels like they are pulling your tooth out with the thing they use. that really hurts.

There are no real stages for putting on braces. Braces are personalized for the problems each person has and the orthodontist make a plan based on what you will need. As far as pain goes, yes for a few days after the brackets are placed, you can feel some discomfort. The best thing you can do is take some pain medicine before you go to have them put on and continue it for a day or two after. Talk to the orthodontist for some tips on relieving pain.

if you must wear braces get them done...if its just a fashion or minor sorta reason then dont bother. basically they give your teeth a good clean then stick each of the individual brackets on...they set them with some light. then they thread the wire through. it really dosent hurt just tight afterwards but this will go away.
