Top retainer?!

Question: Okay I just noticed today that one of the pointy part on the side of my top retainer broke. It's the one in the back left of my mouth. It probably happened recently.

Do I need to get it fixed or can I live with it?

That's the model of my retainer and the point at the bottom right in the picture is where it broke.

I really would prefer not to get a new one because I've already lost my retainer once and I just got work done on it (built a ramp on the front to keep my mouth more open at night) and that cost a lot.

Thanks in advance!

As long as it still fits and stays in your mouth, you should be fine. You may ask your ortho to smooth off the edge where it broke if it bothers your tongue.

Go to ur ortho, and they will give u a whole new retiner

mine broke the same way...as long as the wire in the front that keeps your front teeth aligned isnt broken then you can still continue to use the one you have

i think so just dont eat alot of hard foods the retainer is just to keep your teeth in place to keep them from going back to how you first had them
