What does it feel like to have a cavity filled without novacaine?!

It depends on how deep the cavity. I had one with-out Novocaine and it was not really painful. But, I just prefer the Novocaine, the laughing gas, the headset and television lol :)
Seriously, my son hates the effects of Novocaine and prefers to have his fillings without. I think the drill noise is the most irritating part. You dentist may have the headset for music. That is better than numbing if you do not have to.
Even though i use the Novocaine, it makes me nauseated.
I've had all of my back teeth filled. I don't think they had to numb me or anything. I know having a tooth filled is really no biggie, but if they're going to pull teeth, you'll need to ask for the numbing medication!
It hurts a little bit without the novacaine. I had two teeth drilled last thursday and it the area where he put the shots of novacaine hurts more the next day than the actual procedure. Prior to that I had a filling without novacaine a few years earlier and the pain was certainly tolerable. The way I looked at it was teaching myself a lesson for getting the cavity in the first place. ;)
