5 its not really pain its more of a soreness... retainers are the crappiest part.... after getting your braces off you are so excited... then they put these retainers in your mouth that hurt worse then your braces ever did and you can barely talk... i remember telling my dentist "i would rather have my braces for another 3 years then wear these things"

i think that it varies for everyone
i had braces and it really hurt
but it depends on how much pain you can handle.
i doubt you will have problems thoug..
good luck!

i dont know about 1-10, but it will be sore a few days after each tightening. The day of tightening and maybe the next will be very painful to chew, so keep soup, yogurt, etc on hand.

I would have to say about 51/2 well for me thats how i would rate it. . . well as the other people said i does depent first off it depends how much you need to move your teath because it is moving through your bone. . .ugh painful sounding!!! but as you have them on for a while you will get use to them and you wont really mind its just pressure. . . and were just luckey they dont do it everyday. . . yicks!!! lol!!! well good luck i really hope this helped you. . .
