The above is incorrect. Most people have a slight overbite, which sounds like what you have described, and this is normal. An overbite is where your top teeth slightly cover up your bottom teeth when you bite together. People with more severe overbites cover up their teeth so much that you can hardly see their bottom teeth or can't see their bottom teeth at all. If this is the case, it usually needs to be corrected. Some people have an underbite, where their bottom teeth cover the top teeth when they bite together. And, some people have front teeth that protrude out a lot (buck teeth).

an overbite is when your front teeth do NOT go over your bottom teeth when you bite down. if they do you should be fine.

An overbite is when your top set of teeth don't touch the bottom teeth when you are relaxed. They show and you can see them sticking out of your mouth. I don't think you have one, that's normal.

an over bite is when ur top teeth go over your bottom teeth so much that they kinda stick out of the mouth and the lips can't hide it either. If your teeth go over teh bottom but they don't stick out or cause pain and discomfort for the jaw then that is good and normal and is not an over bite. I had an over bite and wat u describe dosn't sound like an over bite to me!!
Some ppls top teeth go over the bottom and they don't have an over bite or anything. But if it goes over a lot, a lot then they need braces.
