I had ALL FOUR done at once!. Here's my advice, blunt and honest:

1!. Wear an old shirt (or one you won't mind getting stained)!. I!.!.!.drooled!.!.!.quite a bit after my teeth were pulled!. I was so numb I couldn't control it!. There was blood on my shirt and it was ruined!. If the dentist packs the area, keep replacing the cotton for a few hours afterward!. The bleeding will subside by then!.

2!. The numbing process will only hurt once or twice if your dentist does it properly!. After that, you will be sufficiently numb enough not to feel any more numbing injections or the tooth being pulled!. The dentist should check to make sure you can't feel anything before hand!.

Also, if your dentist uses "laughing gas", it will not interfere with your breastfeeding, and will relax you further (unless you've had prior bad reactions to it)!.

3!. The actual pulling isn't too bad!. The sounds (they usually crack or break or drill the tooth) were the worst!. There's just pressure as they pull it out!. If you've had labor pains, tooth pulling isn't a fraction of that!.

4!. Afterward, eat plenty of soft food and rinse your mouth with WARM (not hot) water and a bit of salt!. It will help clean out the socket left by the wisdom tooth!.

Avoid crunchy foods or foods with lots of pieces (like candy) that could irritate the socket for a few days!. My best foods were instant mashed potatoes and banana baby food!. Ice cream and shakes also work!.

Your face might be a little swollen, maybe bruised, and it will ache for a while!.

Tylenol should be safe for you to take while breastfeeding, and should take enough of the edge off to make the pain bearable!. I had my teeth pulled on a Monday!. The following Sunday was Easter and I ate a normal dinner!.

Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

its going to be rough, the phrase 'its like pulling teeth" had to come from somewhere, but dont worry yourself to deathWww@Answer-Health@Com

you are my hero laura, i love you, good luck sweetheart, you will be fine xDWww@Answer-Health@Com

I guess it depends!.!.!. it depends on whether it's impacted or juts into your nerve or sinus cavity!. I'm still recovering from having all four pulled about two weeks ago!.!.!. I didn't have any complications that I'm aware of, but it still hurts a little now; the pain takes a good long time to ease up!. That really sucks that you can't have any meds !.!.!. if I was you, I might just try to pump extra in advance or supplement with formula or something, 'cause I'd want the drugs!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think its best not to extract it right now unless the pain is unbearable!. After delivery, the mother's teeth are very vulnerable!. In fact, it easy for the tooth to come out!. My hubby had his wisdom tooth extracted but he has to be given a pain killer!. I hope you think it over if it is not really hurting and just do it some other time when you are done breast feeding and can take pain killer!. Good luck!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

dont worry about it---it will be easier than you think--they numb it and then all you feel is a tug or pull--there is no pain after they numb it---afterwards its not painful--they may tell you to take asprin or tylenol if neededWww@Answer-Health@Com

at least it's just one, and not all four!. If i were you, i'd wait until i was done breastfeeding!. I'm not gonna lie, it's gonna hurt, and you'll wish you had the pain meds!. Sorry!.
They're gonna have to give you something during the surgery!. Won't that affect the baby!? I got the gas, morphine and codine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I got all my widsom teeth pulled at once a few yrs back so there not a lot I remember as it was so long go!. I won't lie to you I was in a fair bit of pain but i got a few more pulled than you so you should be too bad try and think happy thoughts about your baby family etc and youll be good!. Few days later you will be a new women and wont look back!. All the best!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just try to relax a little and think of this time tomorrow it will be over!.!.!. You should be able to take some tylenol three!?!?!?!? I wish you luck and if you are frozen well you hopefully won't feel it!.!. sorry that's all I have for you!.!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's going to hurt!. I had mine pulled around age 21; they weren't impacted or anything, so it was a relatively simple operation!. After the novacaine (and nitrous) wore off, they hurt like hell for a day or two!.

You're in luck on one point: you *can* take some pain meds!. Pregnant women are ok taking non-aspirin (aka Tylenol), but since you're breastfeeding you can also take ibuprofen!. I know it's better if you can avoid it altogether, but have some ready in case you really need it, and don't go through agony if you don't have to!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had all four pulled at once and survived on Advil alone, so don't worry about it!. One is nothing!. If it's an upper, then it will be particularly easy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't let them tell you you can't have any pain medication because you're breastfeeding!. Heck, women have c-sections and breastfeed all the time, and they take much stronger stuff than you'll need!
