Are spacers supposed to hurt?!

Question: Are spacers supposed to hurt!?
Hi! So yesterday I got my spacers and at first they didn't hurt!.
Then, about 4 hours later, whenever I bite, it hurts A LOT! I only have 3 gummies - not four!. So my right side of my mouth hurts the most, because there i have 2!.

my left side hurts less, i only have one!. But really, I'm a little scared, when i bite, they hurt a lot!.

is it normal!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

they do hurt!. A lot!? That is hard to judge!. If you can't eat, then call your ortho!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Take like 2 advil its probley just the pressure on your mouth that is making it soreWww@Answer-Health@Com

YES they hurt like a YOU know what!!!
don't bite too hard and be careful they dont slide down underneath your gumline!.

Take a tylenol, etc!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i have braces so i started with those, at first it started to hurt, it was sore but after three days i got used to it!. i had them for a week and after three days it didnt even feel like they were there!. and thats nothing compared to when you get ur braces in!. (if u r getting braces afterwards)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had spacers, too, when I first got braces, and I can remember them hurting!. The reason that they hurt is because they are moving your teeth to a different position, so just like when you put in your retainers or get your braces tightened, your teeth hurt, so do spacers!.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, unless it's seriously affecting your life -- like you can't eat, or you're in pain even when you aren't chewing, or through a dose of Tylenol or something like that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hell yeah they hurt! When I got my braces when I was 13 I only ate soft foods for a week!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yes I've had that and yes they do hurt alot!! but it'll get less intense as you get used to it!. If it gets so unbearable go back to you dentist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes omg i had spacers and they hurt so bad i couldn't eat for a weekWww@Answer-Health@Com

yeah, i had them a couple months ago, but it'll get better!. and you only have to have them for about a week, right!? i hate the expander!. i have that now, and it doesn't hurt, but it's just there for a long time, and i'm stuck with it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Call your Doctor and explain him/her the situation !.!.!. for sure he will help you :)

Good Luck :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Pretty much every dental device hurts a great deal at first (especially when you eat!) Don't worry, it goes away in a few days, and until then, just eat soft foods, and takes some mild pain killers!. When my sister first got them, she cried like a baby!Www@Answer-Health@Com

they hurt a lot for the first 2 days!. then you start to get used to them and when you are finally used to them you have to get them changed and they hurt again!. but they feel so much better than when you get a pallet expander and braces!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well i didnt get mine yet but i hav to get two!.but my ortho said itll feell weird n feell ike u hav a peice of meat stuck in ur tooth!.!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

They might just be sensitive because you just had work done on your teeth!. If they still hurt on Monday call the dentist and ask what you should do!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes! I have spacers also! Just take advil!Www@Answer-Health@Com
