Wisdom tooth still bleeding 6 hours after getting it out. When will it stop? Ple!

Question: Wisdom tooth still bleeding 6 hours after getting it out!. When will it stop!? Please help!!?
Hi,

I got my wisdom tooth extracted 6 hours ago (it was fully erupted, not impacted, no stitches)!.!.!. and it is still bleeding pretty good!. Not massively, but the gauze still has a lot of blood on it when I change it every hour or so!.

The dentist said it would stop, and to take the gauze off an hour after I had it done, but it isn't looking much better than it did after the first hour!.

I tried putting a teabag on it for a bit, that didnt help either!.

Also, is it okay to eat while it is still bleeding, or should I wait!? I had a frosty from wendys a bit ago!.!.!.but really want to eat!

Thanks in advance for the advice!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
It is common for a wisdom tooth extraction to bleed for a while after the surgery!. Most often it is not bleeding hard, but mixes with saliva and still looks red!.
You are doing the right thing with the tea bag but maybe you are not putting enough pressure on the socket, so bite down hard for about 10 minutes with the tea bag!.
When the clot starts to form the bleeding will greatly diminish!.
It is ok to eat, just eat soft foods on the other side!.
Best of luck on the healing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would say it depends on how much bleeding there is and what medications you are on!. things like aspirin can cause prolonged bleeding!. the bleeding may appear more as it mixes with the saliva in the mouth!. however if you feel the bleeding is quite substantial you should bite down on a cotton hanky or tea cloth for at least 30 mins!. if the bleeding doesn't stop i would contact your dentist or local acciddent and emergency department!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

r u truly biting down steadily and hard but not to hard for at leats a half an hour!? I would suggest avoiding drinking with straw!. Its not good idea to eat while its bleeding just hold on for at least 40 mins more by biting down steadily on a clean guaze!. If that dosn't work u should call a nurse or somthing seriously but if u must eat avoid taht area at all costs! apple sauce, potatoes etc r good!. This bleeding should have stopped long ago, some oozing is okay but wat u right sounds like its a leaking pipe!. Call a a professional or go to one today!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The first thing you need to do is put clean gauze in your mouth and put pressure on it pressure is what is going to stop the bleeding!. pressure for an hour change the gauze if it gets too bloody!. then leave it alone till tomorrow you can start to rinse with warm salt water up to 8 times a day!. if the bleeding does not stop try the tea bag again just lay it back there something in the tea will help the blood clot!. Pressure is the key!. no smoking or drinking with a strawWww@Answer-Health@Com

ha ha!. Took mine at least 2 days before it stopped bleeding!. Dentist gave me 3 bandages and I went through them so fast!. Just try to keep it coveredWww@Answer-Health@Com

Ah! It took a long time for mine to heal, 3 days before I could eat properly!. It bled for the first day/night!. I rinsed it with water a couple of times and used new gauze till it healed over!. Had to be very careful brushing!.

Just keep it dry and covered so it can knit over!. I could only manage warm soup with a straw!. Eventually you'll see white, you may think it's bone, it's not, it's the knitting together over the wound!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A cool tea bag of any variety of tea containing tannic acid, such as green, black or oolong, can stop bleeding problems that often follow a tooth extraction!. Place a cool tea bag over the spot where your tooth was pulled, then bite gently!. The tannic acid in the tea helps promote clotting, which will help stop your bleeding!.More remedies and information regarding your teeth at http://useinfo-dentalcare!.blogspot!.com/Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can eat, just remember to take the gauze out!. The other thing you need to look at, is if it is bleeding a lot or just a little bit of blood and a lot saliva!. A lot of saliva and a little bit of blood, looks like a lot of blood!. If it is dark red and still bleeding a lot then you might want to go back!. That is if you kept pressure on the gauze and change it like you were told!. But its light red or pink, then its probably healing ok!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
