Answers:
Tooth sensitivity may be caused by :
- exposed root areas due to receding gums or periodontal disease!.
- dentin exposure caused by vigorous brushing or chemical action
- tooth decay

Have you used any tooth bleaching product recently!? Tooth bleaching may cause severe sensitivity in some cases!.

But in your case, I would guess that the pain is caused by tooth decay!. There is a possibility that the tooth was not properly cleaned before it was filled!. Some of the decayed tissue may have been left in the tooth!.

The fact that the tooth has now started to hurt without any external stimuli is a sign that you have a tooth infection and possibly a tooth abscess!. I should suggest to visit your dentist immediately!. Even if it is a tooth abscess your dentist may save your tooth with root canal treatment!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

probably the best thing to do is go ahead and have it pulled, but somebody was telling me the other day that you can have a plastic cap put over a bad tooth, but i dont know for sureWww@Answer-Health@Com

A tooth that has been filled can become sensitive to cold or hot!. The best remedy is a NSAID(advil, aleve, etc!.) And for now, try not to eat on the affected side of your mouth!. They're are numbing gels and such on the market today but they are mainly for temporary relief!. You'll have better luck with Aleve!.

When something hot or cold touches the almalgam(your metal filling) it intensifies the affect because metal is a very good conductor!. the living nerve in the pulp of your tooth is super sensitive, and can become inflammed when aggrivated!.

You could also try a brand of toothpaste called SENSODYNE!. If used regularly it can be very beneficial with tooth sensitivity!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

is this a constant dull throbbing pain you are getting!?is it tender to bite onand keep you awake at night!? If it is it sounds like you are describing irreversible pulpitis!. this means that the nerve of the tooth has been affected and the tooth is effectively dying off!. the only treatment options in this case would then be root canal treatment or to have the tooth extracted!. you need to call your dentist to get an emergency appointment!. in the meantime you can take ibuprofen and paracetamol to try and relive the pain!. you can take the paracetamol 4x day and the ibuprofen 3x day!.
best of luck hun, toothache is a nightmare =(

Hi X3missvi,

You've received some good advice, and here's my 2 cents worth!.!.!.
(1) Since you are SURE the problem is your filled tooth and NOT your gums!.!.!.!.
(2) Call your Dentist or find a "second opinion" one! Make an appointment for ASAP!.
(3) Have the tooth/filling and area around the tooth examined!.
* You will probably need another Xray taken!. Hopefully, something will show up in the exam or Xray to explain the problem!.
* There's a possibility that not all of the cavity was removed, that you have an abscess, that the root is damaged but not "dead", that there's a "pocket" between the tooth and filling!.
There are TONS of things that could cause the problem!. Don't wait for your May appointment!.
*Why suffer unnecessarily!?
Remember!.!.!.!.YOU know what's happening when it comes to pain!. If you don't get satisfaction from one person/place!.!.!.look for another source!. Get recommendations to a specialist!.
Your teeth are one of the most important things every human being should do everything they can to KEEP as long as POSSIBLE!.

Wishing you GREAT success in finding relief and answers, and Many Happy Smiles in your future!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds like the nerve in the tooth might have died!.

You should get it looked at as soon as you can!. A boy had a toothache a while ago and the infection spread into his brain and he died!.
