Question: My orthodontist gave me two retainers!? They move my teeth in 2 different ways!?!!?
I got my braces off like more than a month ago!. It was only for my top teeth!. At first, I got this clear retainer that looks like Invisilign!. It's like a mold of my teeth!. I had to wear it 24/7!.
Then, I went back like a week later and he gave me a regular retainer that most people have!.
He said I could wear the regular retainer when I'm at home and the clear when I'm out or something because it looks nicer!.
But, I lost my clear retainer for like 3 weeks and then I found it yesterday! I was wearing my regular retainer instead!. But now, the clear retainer is really tight and barely fits!.
So I think that my regular retainer is moving my teeth in different ways!. I think it makes my teeth more crooked!.
So should I just wear my clear retainer!? I don't even need the regular one!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

In my opinion,the clear one is more important (my dog chewed mine up) wear it till it fits again even though it might hurt!!!!! Then talk to your orthodontist about this!.!.!.I know sometimes they dont explain things because mine didnt thats for sure, my guess is they deal with kids so much that they get out of practice!. And I would get another clear retainer as a backup!.!.!.After my dog chewed my clear retainer I waited about a month before I went in to get a repalcement, and I could tell my teeth had moved but I thought the orthodontist could make a new clear retainer from the copy of my teeth that they have in the office (the one they make when you get your braces off) and that I could just force them on and go from there!.!.!. wrong!!!.!.they said that if they make a new clear retainer form the copy they have, that it might not fit and that I could do it if I want to take the chance but they would still charge me, and they could make a new clear retainer from my actual teeth as they were at that time!. Bottom line is make your orthodontist spill the beans!. This issue still ticks me off because I think orthodontists are used to dealing with people who have allot of money so they dont ever think that any of their clients isnt rich, at least mine anyway!.!.its annoying!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Your teeth moved while your regular retainer was lost, your alternate retainer isn't moving them the wrong way!.
My orthodontist told me that in the first few months of getting my braces off if I miss wearing my retainer for even a few hours to a day, my teeth will shift and I'll have to have my retainer adjusted!.
You need to go back and get another clear retainer and don't miss wearing it like you should, even for a few hours!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
