I'm a dentist!.
First off, relax! The chance of this cyst actually being cancer is exceedingly small!.
Most likely, you have a dentigerous cyst, which is a cyst that develops from tissues involved with tooth development--specifically, production of the enamel!. Now, the lining of these cysts can become cancerous, but this is quite rare, and not worth worrying about it!. Virtually every type of cell in your body can become cancerous!. Do you think you should spend your time worrying about those too!? Of course not!
Your doctor will (or at least should) send the tooth and the cyst to a pathologist to have it evaluated and examined under a microscope, just to confirm the diagnosis of dentigerous cyst and make absolutely sure there's nothing more serious going on!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
