I'm getting my braces put on tomorrow at 9:00 A!.M!. and I'm FREAKING OUT HERE!!!
PLEASE tell me everything you know and exactly what they do!. Does it hurt pretty bad!?!?!? I just need to close up some spaces in my teeth and they aren't crooked at all!. I have to keep them on for 14 months (which isnt really that long compared to most ppl)!.
I want the truth! Please tell me how bad you thought it was when u got braces!.
Are there any specific things I should do before i get to the orth!?
Does anything make u want to gag while putting braces on!?

I just got my braces off three weeks ago!. the worst part about getting them on is the taste of the cement they have to put on your teeth for the brackets to stay!. It's going to be a little sore for a few days and pudding will be your best friend, but it's nothing aspirin or a pain relief medicine cant fix!.
First they have you brush your teeth so its easier to put on!. Then they mix the cement and glue each bracket onto your teeth!. They use a dryer, which takes about 2 minutes to dry, if not less!. Then they put the wire along the top and bottom of your mouth across your teeth which attatches to the brackets, and put the tiny rubber bands on to hold the wire in place!. Then you wash your mouth with fluoride 2 times, 60 seconds each time!. It's simple!
They only do things to your teeth, not near your throat so you shouldn't gag!.!.Try not to stress about it!.!. its reeaaally not that bad at all, not worth worrying about!. You'll be fine!. i promise :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, it doesn't hurt!.!.!.you just feel strange!.!.!.and the good thing is that you get use to them!.!.!.and get results in a week!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
no you won't gag when you get your braces on infact i'll be frank and the truth is after a few hours it'll ache like hell but it really depends on you, just take a panadol after or something and also just start off eating soft foods like jelly,yoghurt and stuff like that for the first week or so, or just until the pain goes away, you'll get used to it don't worry!

no!. i thought the same thing when i first got my braces!. no the braces dont hurt at all or when putting them on!. its not bad at all!. i got mine on last summer and i like them!. the only thing that might make you gag a little bit is when they put that thing in ur mouth to hold it open!. its on there for a prettl long time!. but after a minute or so, you get used to it!. so dont worry about!. braces are actually fun!. =]Www@Answer-Health@Com
Ok, I wore braces for 3 years and let me tell you!.!.!.it's not that bad!. Don't worry!. When you first get them on, you will definately feel different and your jaws/teeth will feel very tight!. But this feeling soon passes after about a week!. Your teeth will also be very sensitive so you will have to stay away from solid foods!.!.!.soup will be your best friend!. :) You might get headaches also, but nothing an Advil or Tylenol won't be able to take care of!. Every month, when you get them tightened, they will obviously feel more tighter and a bit uncomfortable at first, but that too shall pass!. Good luck, it's not that bad :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
well i'll tell you it doesnt hurt !. the only thing that changes is that you can barely have gum !. if you chew gum alot , then your braces wont come out right and you'll have to do it again!.if your in the movie buissness you'll have to get clear braces!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I had braces years ago!. I was all nervous about getting them and was kind of scared about it, too!. The one thing that sticks out in my mind about the whole experience is the soreness that I seemed to constantly have in my mouth!. My jaw, teeth, cheeks, and sometimes my tongue seemed to be sore a lot!. When you go in every month to get new rubber bands, it's more sore for the first few days!. Regardless of how crooked your teeth are, the braces are moving teeth and it does kind of hurt!. You'll be fine, though!. Things are always scary when you've never done them!. it doesnt hurt getting them on, its just getting used to them being there!. they will hurt a bit and be sennsitive for a week or so but after that its not so bad!. take some tylenol or advil if you feel any pain after!. and 14 months isnt bad at all! i had mine on for 4 years and just got them off today, it was totally worth it!. Be sure to always take some ibuprophen or tylonol before your appointments!. They will only be sore for a day or two after adjustments!. If the pain is bad enough, oragel works pretty good!. Nothing really made me want to gag while getting them on, but they do make you open your mouth in ways you thought werent possible!. If you have to wear rubber bands at all, make sure to wear them however your orthodontist tells you to!.!.it really speeds things up!

Your teeth will be tender for a few days after getting the braces!. I am an orthodontic assistant and my best advice to you if you are a little nervous would be to ask the assistant to walk you through every step!. Having braces put on truly is not bad it is just the unknown that intimidates people!. I always explain to my patients step by step what I am doing and this really seems to help them relax!. Just don't be afraid to ask questions! You will do great tomorrow! Also you may want to take some tylenol before you go in, it will help with the tenderness!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
It really isn't as bad as people make it out to be!. Its kinda uncomfortable, at first!. Then it is hard to bite anything for the next few days!. Then, you are all good!. Just remember to brush your teeth all the time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Enjoy a grand feast of popcorn and soda tonight!.!.!.they are two big no-no snacks when you'll have your braces on (popcorn shells get stuck under braces' wires and sugary soda erodes the glue that allows the bracets to stick on your teeth)!.
Expect some tightness in your jaw tomorrow evening!.!.!. lots of wiring will occur in your mouth to tighten the bracets together; but taking an Advil afterwards should help relieve you of that tho!.!.!.!.and its not tooo painful -- I survived :)
If you're still nervous, just do some positive thinking -- like how GoRgEous your teeth will be in 14 mos from now! And, what color of rubberbands you'll select at each ortho visit ;)
