Aayub A - if you have trouble flossing your teeth, ask your parents to get you a water pick!. Or get some flossing brushes at your local drugstore (right next to the dental floss)!. Flossing brushes work great with braces and really get between the teeth!.

Your gums are swollen because bacteria has gotten in your gums and is causing an infection!. To kill the infection and reduce your swollen gums, every morning and before bed after brushing and flossing use Hydrogen Peroxide as your mouth wash!. You can buy hydrogen peroxide (3% in the brown bottle) at your local drugstore for about $2 for a 32 ounce bottle!. Mix ? ounce hydrogen peroxide with ? ounce hot water and swirl in your mouth for about 1 minute (hydrogen peroxide is odorless and tasteless but it FOAMS and it may sting your mouth)!. Spit out (DO NOT SWALLOW) and then rinse your mouth out several times with cool water!. A 32 ounce bottle will last about one month!.

Hydrogen peroxide not only kills the bacteria in the mouth that causes your swollen gums (which also causes bad breath and cavities) it will whiten your teeth!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Smoking definately isn't good for your teeth!. It can be the cause of discoloration of your gums, but I'm not so sure if it is the cause of swollen gums!. It is also extremely important to FLOSS! I never flossed the first few months of having braces, and my gums became extremely unhealthy and swollen!. So to make the swolleness go down, I began flossing more often, softly brushing the part where my gums and tooth met, as well as swishing salt water in my mouth every night!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

smoking is a great factor that can cause bad gum condition in a lengthy term!. having swollen gums gives you already the best reason to abstain from such unhealthy habit!. having swollen gums in the first place is not absolutely normal!.

swollen gums can be caused by a gum infection!. consulting a dentist is the best thing to do!. take oral health seriously for gum disease can affect general health if left untreated!. and it is best that you pay close attention to good oral hygiene to prevent gum disease from silently attacking and progressing!. make it a habit to properly and carefully brush and floss teeth to remove plaque and keep the mouth free from bad bacteria from proliferating!. visit http://www!.oramd!.co!.uk for more tips on how to take good care of the gums!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
