The novacaine shot can really hurt!. This is what the doctor injects before he or she starts drilling and filling the cavity!. I always pay extra to get the laughing gas during the procedure!. It doesn't help with the pain, but it helps keep me more relaxed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The only thing that will hurt is when they give you a shot of novocain!. Then you'll be numb for a while!.
Be careful eating for the rest of the day, until you can feel your whole mouth and face again, you don't want to bite your tongue or cheek!.
Also, take tylenol or something after, your mouth may be uncomfortable when the numbness goes away!.
It's not the most fun thing in the world, but it'll be done before you know it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well i just had a cavity filled about a week ago, and yeah, the numbing shot hurt a little!. i don't know if it was just me or not, but after the dentist had be drilling for a little bit, it started to hurt because i think she was getting close to the nerve!. i belive this was because the decay was pretty large, and don't be worried about it, it was certainly tolerable!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
