Is it possible to accidentally loosen a tooth when getting it deep cleaned from !

Question: Is it possible to accidentally loosen a tooth when getting it deep cleaned from the dentist!?
Went to the dentist today to get my teeth deep cleaned!. Now one of my tooth aches!.

I tried feeling it out with my fingers and it doesn't feel loose but it hurts when you put pressure on it back and forth (like it was loose)!.

The dentist told me that it would be sore for the next day or two, and it kinda is!. Question is, is it normal!? Or did they mess up!? Again, it was deep cleaning they did!.

I'm going to give it two days and if afterwards still problems, i'm going back to have them check it out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Breaking it down for you:

It is normal for teeth to be sore and possibly loose after a deep cleaning!. Apparantly you had a lot of tartar (calculus) build up on your teeth!. Over time that build up can actually act like a cement and sometimes it's the only thing that keeps that tooth in place!. So, once it is removed, you will notice sensitivity, because the wall of cement is not there protecting your tooth anymore, as well as loose feeling of the teeth!. Do not get discouraged!. This has to be removed in order to get you back on track to maintaining healthy gums and teeth!. Just take whatever over the counter medication you would normally take for relief while those gums are healing!. The tooth sensitivity will gradually lessen or go away completely!. Crest Pro-Health toothpaste is great for sensitivity!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm a dentist!.

I don't mean to sound condescending here, but didn't you say yourself that the doctor told you that your teeth would be sore!? If he did, he told you this because it IS normal!.

So, I will tell you exactly the same thing your doctor told you: your teeth are going to be sore for a few days!. I will also add that a little bit of mobility is perfectly normal after this kind of cleaning!. It is caused by inflammation and concomitant swelling of the periodontal ligament, which should gradually subside over the course of a week, if not faster!.

You can always take over the counter pain medications for your discomfort!. NSAIDS are preferable, provided you can take them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
