When you get jaw surgery (overbite) after you get the surgery do you need to get!

Question: When you get jaw surgery (overbite) after you get the surgery do you need to get braces!?
Answers:
So you're saying the orthodontist said you'd be "a jaw surgery case"!? As in just braces won't correct your issue!?

If so, usually what happens is the orthodontist puts the braces on, moves the teeth how they need to be before the oral surgeon does his/her thing!. Once the surgeon is done with the surgery you'd probably need to wear the braces a bit longer until things are all healed & everyone is satisfied with the end result!.

The 2 Dr!.'s work pretty close together on this!. The ortho will take progress x-rays, study models/surgical models which are impressions of your upper and lower teeth that are made into plaster models of your teeth for the surgeon to work up the surgical plan, etc!.

If this is what you mean, I've seen some really beautiful outcomes with these ortho/surgical cases!.

Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
