Question: I have hidden under my gum line a thin black line can anyone help me with what this is!. thanks!?
Answers:
It is calculus aka tartar buildup (hardened plaque)!. When it forms under the gumline it appears black!. You need to see your dental hygienist for a cleaning!. When it begins to build below the gumline this is bad b/c it usually means gum disease and bone loss!. The buildup destroys the bone that holds your teeth in and grows larger in its place!. It is like having a splinter in your gums all the time that is infested with bacteria!. If you don't get it cleaned out it will destroy enough bone that your teeth loosen up!. In the meantime, rinse with hydrogen peroxide before bed!. Swish, spit, do not rinse/eat/drink just go to bed!. It will bubble under there and help keep it clean!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
dried blood from bleeding gums, you might need periodontal therapy----or you have just had it and this is the result---in which case it dissappears in few days!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Sounds as though you are seeing possible decay, if that line is on a tooth!. If it happens to be at the bottom of a Crown, it could also be decay or only tartar that has turned dark!.!.In any event you need to see a DDS and get the issues diagnosed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
