Is anesthesia required for dental impressions?!

Question: Is anesthesia required for dental impressions!?
This makes no sense to me!. Why on earth would I need anesthesia for an impression!? I am in the process of having a couple of teeth recapped and need another impression!. What happens if I refuse anesthesia!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I have never heard of anesthesia for an impression, if you refuse, I dont think they can force you, but they will definitely try to make it seem like it is not an option, I would ask them why they want to anesthetize you and then be like well, either you do or dont want it, it would seem like it violates some sort of right to force you to take a drugWww@Answer-Health@Com

this depends on the technic of impression!.
1- if this is a conventional technic , they need to put a gingival retracting cord to take a good and precise impression, in this case if you refused to the anesthesia you will have lots of pain and if the dentist didn't put the cord you will have bad impressions and later on a gap between the tooth and the veneers and by consequence a cavities under the cap or bad smell or halitosis!.
2- if it's a new technic like laser gingival troughing , you won't need any anesthesia and you will have good impressions!.
my advise to you is to let your dentist work at his convenience to have a good result or find a laser dentist !.

good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't believe that it's needed for tooth impressions where the assistant takes a mold of one's teeth and then it dries!. It just may make a person feel as though he or she is gagging a bit so please remember to breathe in through the nose!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i don't see why all your doing is biting down on a foam like substance not like there cutting or pulling a tooth or somethingWww@Answer-Health@Com
