Aside from the fact that the infection itself could end up systemic (and killing you - none of us are exaggerating), an abscess can swell to the point of blocking your airway (and killing you)!. No fooling!.

The longer you wait the more troubles you cause yourself!. Consider getting a sedative prescribed to you by your dentist if that's what it takes to get you in that chair, but please do it SOONER rather than later!.

Most of the horror stories you hear about root canals come from people who put off treatment (or they just have a pathological need for attention), letting the nerve get hyper sensitive!. Get it done - like yesterday!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am a big chicken of the dentist and last year I finaly went in with a cracked tooth I had an absese also I didnt know about and ended up needing a root canal, and I was freaked out but I went and it was not bad at all, and I needed medication for the abses that they put into it and that didnt hurt at all, so you should just go and get it over with you will feel better and if you want some dentists can also put you to sleep maybe you should ask about that, but please get it done it really isn't that bad and this way you wont get sick from your abses that could affect other things in your body and it could make you very sick

If you don't get a required root canal = serious long term pain or loss of tooth (extraction) at best and infection that could spread through your bloodstream and eventually kill you at worst!.

I've had a root canal and it's less painful than having a filling in your tooth!. If done properly, root canals are not painful because the root/pulp (pain center of the tooth) is removed, so there's nothing left to feel pain!.

Final advice= make sure you go to an endodontist (oral surgeon), not just a dentist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

the worst you can do is to cancel your appointment!.
if you don't do the root canal you might have terrible pain in this case you will need high dose of anesthetics and you'll still feel the pain while the dentist is working
or
you don't feel anything ,which is worst cause in this case your tooth is having necrosis and you are starting to have an absces which will lead you to swelling-pain-pus-bad breath!.!.!. and a very high dose of antibiotics and anesthetics!.
in both cases you will end by a root canal treatment, so why you don't do it sooner than later!.
my advise to you is to tell your dentist to give you high dose of anesthetics and take your ipod with you so you won't feel any sounds or vibrations or find a laser dentist!.

For your sake!.!.!.just get the root canal!.!.!.and if you seriously aren't going to, then have it extracted(pulled)
Root Canals have a bad rep, they aren't that bad, the alternative is much worse!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

VERY SIMPLY YOU WILL END UP WITH AN ABSCESS AND PROBABLY LOSE THE TOOTH AND POSSIBLY YOUR LIFE DUE TO INFECTION!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

DEATH from an infection at the worst!. Need to have the tooth extracted at best!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
