Oh gosh, didn't the dentist prescribe vicadon [sp!?] for u!?
I HAD an extraction almost 1 wk ago!. A molar I had removed!.
It was painful esp!. the 1st 3 days on and off!.
I took vicadon a few times!. But believe it or not, the MOTRIN is what helped me the most!. 2 tablets made the pain dissappear for several hrs!. :--)
yes it was really helpful and long with a few ice packs placed on my jaw!. What a relief/don't worry gradually its going to heal more and more and by the 3rd day, you won't feel it too often/I know it sux!. try the Motrin
I think the reason why Motrin helped even better was because this medicine helps w/the inflamation currently going on!. It will help this lessen quite a bit, it did w/me!.
My dentist and dental hygenist advised me to swoosh 'light' salt water rinses starting my 2nd day a couple of times per day for a week to help keep the extraction site clean and promote healing!.
The wondrous thing about it, is it eased the pain a lot as well!.
It is a combination of things you do for yourself to take away any physical pain and get to feeling better :o)
p!.s!. if you do the salt water rinses on the blue slip the dentist gave me, they recommended a teas!. salt per cup of water!.
The right amount of salt will help!. Otherwise if too much salt is in there, it will do the opposite--sting a little/nonetheless, salt is a natural healer!.
Take plenty of naps too!. It's only going to relax you from any trauma you may of experienced, and refresh your mind too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
