How long should I keep the gauze in my mouth after wisdom tooth extraction?!

Question: How long should I keep the gauze in my mouth after wisdom tooth extraction!?
I just had all four wisdom teeth extracted this morning, I left the oral surgeons office at about 1 and changed the gauze at about 1:30 when I got home because they were soaked with blood!. Now I've had the new gauze in for about an hour and im wondering if i can take it out yet because i would like to take a nap and its pretty annoying and tastes disgusting!. Do you think a blood clot has formed already!? If one has, is it safe to take it out yet with out dislodging it!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I agree! Change the gauze, nap then check gauze again!. The dentist gives you that much gauze for a reason!. Also they are not kidding about the no smoking and no straws rule! Those two rules lead to dislodging the blood clots I guess!. Don't go overboard on the pain killers either! That's when I got addicted to them Vikes! Luckily you got them all done at once so you don,t have to go threw this all over! Congrats!! now GO TO BED!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I also got all four extracted, but two at a time!. I was told to leave the gauze in for 2 hours both times!. Dentist said to change them if they got saturated with blood but I didn't have to!.

The top will clot faster than the lower!.

I went for a nap with the gauze still left in with no problems!. Gargle mouthwash such as 'Corsodyl' very gently after about 10 hours!. Enjoy the yogourt and lukewarm soup!.!.!.!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Until the bleeding stops!. Please be mindful that a little bit of blood and a lot of saliva looks like a lot of blood!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

when it stops bleeding, quit using gauze!.

replace every few hours will pull the forming scab loose
good luck!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

ONCE THE BLEEDING STOPS REMOVE THE GAUZE, SOME SITE OOZING IS NORMAL!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Change the gauze again, then take your nap!. I'd leave them in at least 12 hours!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
