Preventive wisdom teeth extraction?!
Question: Preventive wisdom teeth extraction!?
I recently went to the dentist for the first time in 6 years!. Before you ask, the reason I didn't go is I used to live in a country where dental insurance is expensive, the consequence of which dental care is not affordable for a portion of the population, which I was a part of!. I now live in the US where things are a little better in that department!.
Anyway: my dentist recommended I get my wisdom teeth removed at some point soon, as he says they are soft tissue impacted!.
I've never had any kind of problem with my wisdom teeth and am somewhat reluctant to have that done to me unless it's necessary!. My parents have all of their wisdom teeth and have never had a problem either!.
I still have to go see a specialized surgeon to get a panoramic dental X-ray and see what he thinks, but I thought I'd get opinions from here as well!. I'm not a conspiracy theorist but I tend to think dentists use their title to convince you to get expensive treatments you don't necessarily need =p

It's really up to you!. While a smaller percent of the population doesn't have problems with wisdom teeth, there is a large percent that does!. If your teeth are in the soft tissue, they are just below your gum line!. If they move, they will break the skin and cause other problems like infection and swelling!. I'm a dentist who recommends preventative wisdom tooth extractions!. I have 3 of my wisdom teeth though!. The reason why I recommend it is because when they go sour (and they do more than any other tooth in the mouth) they are too far back to work on and have to come out anyway!. Now you have a ridiculous amount of pain along with an expensive procedure!. If you can afford it, just have them out all at once!. I promise you it will make your life easier!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
