How bad does a tooth extraction hurt?!

Question: How bad does a tooth extraction hurt!?
People keep telling me it doesn't hurt and doesn't hurt, but when I was five I had a really bad dentist who numbed the bottom (where my wiggly tooth wasn't at) then came back moments later and pulled out my wiggly tooth raw without the numb shot :[ I remember it being really painful!? :<
I got so scared the next three wiggly teeth I got I pulled them out in secret by myself !._!.;;

How bad does it hurt!? I know it sounds stupid, and I'm 16 now so I should have gotten over it, but for some reason I can't x!.o;; Can you relate the pain to anything please!? A pinch or a punch or w/e D:

Easy 10 points! Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

With all the advances now, we (dentists) do not make a tooth extraction hurt!. If a patient is nervous, as you seem to be, we first apply an anesthetic in cream that goes in the place the needle will go later, and the with an appropriate technique we inyect the local anesthetic, so the shot shouldn't hurt anything, now if you want, (this is something I do) you can hold or inch softly, let's say, your hand or belly, so that you forget about the needle!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

With a good dentist there should be no pain on the extraction!.! These days you would expect them to numb the gum with a gel which will stop the needle hurting!. You will probably have some discomfort with the injection but only a second or so!. With a difficult extraction the dentist may have to 'work' the tooth out ( usually back or wisdom teeth) otherwise it will take about 2 seconds!.!.!. Possible discomfort and some bleeding for a day or so but no real pain!. Good Luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hey there!. I had my top right wisdom tooth pulled out about a year and a half ago!. I myself, actually had pain!. But that's probably because I smoked and I wasn't supposed to!. Oops!. But yeah!. It didn't hurt too bad!. The shots hurt the most and everything else is a breeze!. Just be care to not get dry socket!. The dentist will tell you all about it!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had a molar pulled a few years ago!. I had a shot so it was numb!. The worst is it feels like you had a punch in the side of the head!. A little stiff but no problems!. Seeing that your is a front tooth, I'd say it will be quick and painless!. If this still doesn't convince you, grab his testicles and say "We are not going to hurt each other are we!?"Www@Answer-Health@Com

No pain during the extraction, just alot of pressure ang tugging!. The pain is after the meds wear off!. I just used aleve but if you have a low tolerance for pain you may want to ask for presciption strength ibuprofren!. naproxen or Vicoden!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

JEN,
THE WAY A DENTAL ANESTHETIC WORKS IS THAT IT WILL TAKE AWAY ANY FEELING OF PAIN BUT NOT PRESSURE!.
WITH A GENTLE, CARING DENTIST EXTRACTIONS ARE A BREEZE AND THERE'S NO PAIN FELT!.
DON'T LET THE FEELING OF ANY PRESSURE SCARE YOU!. IF THE DENTIST IS TRAINED IN ATRAUMATIC EXTRACTION YOU WILL NOT EVEN FEEL PRESSURE!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should not be in pain at all!. I went to a real jerk when I was a kid suffered a lot of pain!. Dentist are much better now!.
You'll be fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
